Build a retirement
on your terms
Everyone’s vision of retirement is different, and that’s something to celebrate! Whether you dream of travelling extensively, taking on new hobbies, writing a novel, or enjoying quiet days at home, one thing usually holds true: Old Age Security (OAS) and the Canadian Pension Plan (CPP) alone aren’t enough for most people.
That’s where your Saskatchewan Pension Plan comes in. It’s designed to help fill the gap between what government benefits provide and the retirement you’re working toward.
Retirement math: Will I have enough money to retire?
Experts often suggest you’ll need between 60-70% of your pre-retirement income each year to maintain your lifestyle in retirement, but this isn’t a one-size-fits-all scenario. Your definition of “enough” depends on your goals, health, housing, and the lifestyle you want to lead. That’s why it’s worth taking some time to picture your ideal retirement.

Start by asking yourself What kind of life will I want in retirement? Will you downsize or move somewhere new? Travel or stay close to family? Once you know the lifestyle you’re aiming for, you can start figuring out what that means for your budget.
